Camouflaj, the critically acclaimed studio behind the episodic series REPUBLIQUE, is looking for a Technical Artist to join our team.  Tech Artists at Camouflaj work closely with their fellow artists and help streamline pipeline and establish graphical features that programmers can then utilize.  The ideal candidate is self-motivated and takes pride in solving difficult problems and while delivering quality work.


  • Analyze, prioritize, and solve technical problems efficiently and creatively
  • Create and maintain high level technical art content
  • Create custom scripts and tools to improve pipeline for software such as 3DS Max, Maya, and Photoshop
  • Develop and document tools in the Unity engine for content creators
  • Assist with the creation of art-related games systems in Unity
  • Ensure levels and other content are meeting memory budgets and hitting performance targets



  • Thorough, highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently with little supervision
  • Experience programming in C# or C++
  • Scripting experience in Python, MEL, or Maxscript
  • Strong understanding of shader creation and optimization in CG or HLSL
  • Passion for making and playing games with an awareness of current titles and industry trends



  • Experience with level management and optimization on a console project
  • Strong knowledge of modern game environment development principles and techniques
  • Rigging experience and a strong understanding of animation pipelines
  • Knowledge of PBR Metal/Rough workflow in Unity
  • Knowledge of real-time VFX
  • Experience with version control software like Perforce
  • Has shipped a AAA Video game on console
